We've activated a new security measure on our forum to protect our community's safety and to prevent fake accounts and spam attempts.
From now on, certain actions will be restricted for connections made through VPN, Proxy, Tor and Apple Private Relay. This restriction covers the following actions:
• New member registration
• Logging in
• Creating a thread
• Sending a private message
• Using the contact form
When such a connection is detected, you'll see a warning message during the relevant action.
This won't affect most of our members. None of our members who access the forum over a normal internet connection (home, mobile data, workplace, etc.) will notice any change. The measure only targets connection types that hide your identity.
If you use a VPN: When performing the actions above, simply disable your VPN, Proxy or Tor app temporarily. Once you've completed your action, you can turn it back on however you like. Those using Apple devices may need to temporarily disable the “Private Relay” feature in their settings.
If you're getting this warning even though you're not using any app that hides your connection, please get in touch with our admins; we'll look into it for you.
