Rehber Olta Misina - Spool Capacity Calculation

Üst
Olta Misina Here, I will explain both the introduction and usage of a new module I developed for our community—a module that is unique and found in no other community worldwide. Our module
is the Fishing Reel Line Capacity Calculator, or MSK for short.

What is the Fishing Reel Line Winding Capacity Calculator (MSK)?

The Fishing Reel Line Winding Capacity Calculator (MSK) uses your fishing reel’s factory reference values to determine how much monofilament line, fluorocarbon line, monofilament line you can wind onto the spool, and how much line you can load onto the spool section of your reel. If there is no capacity information on the spool or if you want to verify it, this is an extremely useful module that allows you to calculate capacity based on physical measurements.

How to Use MSK?

When you click the "MSK" menu in the top navigation bar, the module screen will appear. On the module screen, you will see three options:
  • Capacity Calculation
  • Backing Calculation
  • Spool Measurement
The Spool Measurement option is used in very rare cases—specifically when you cannot access any information on the machine’s spool or in its housing—and will guide you to the correct result. Generally, the options you will use are Capacity and Backing.

Capacity Calculation

By using the capacity calculation option, you can easily calculate how many meters of monofilament, fluorocarbon, or braided line will fit on the machine spool for different line diameters, using one of the capacity values specified on the machine spool or in the machine’s box as a reference. Let’s go through the options that will appear when you select the capacity calculation option, in order.

Select One of the Values Printed on the Spool (Reference)

The first options to look at in this section are Nylon / Fluorocarbon and PE / Braid. If you’re winding braided line onto your reel, select PE / Braid; if you’re winding monofilament or fluorocarbon, select Nylon / Fluorocarbon. Next, in the same section:
  • Line Diameter Printed on the Spool (Reference) - mm
  • Line Capacity Printed on the Spool (Reference) - meters
—typically, the "meters" section is used—enter the reference value specified for your reel.

Enter the line diameters you want to test

Enter the values you want to wind onto your reel in the options here, and when you click "Calculate" in the final step, the system will provide you with the exact amount of monofilament, fluorocarbon, or monofilament line you need to wind onto your reel with 100% accuracy.

Backing Calculation

Here, you can calculate how many meters of backing (filler) you need to wind under your main line. This is ideal for fully utilizing the spool’s capacity. The backing and main line can be of different types (e.g., PE backing, Fluoro main line); make sure to select the correct type from the module’s options. When you select the backing option, the screen that appears will again ask you to enter your reference value first—I won’t repeat this since I explained it above.

Main Line Information

Here, you need to enter the main line information you’ll be using on your reel, just as we discussed above.

Backing Information

In this field, simply enter the line information you’ll use for the backing in your reel in millimeters and click “Calculate.” The app will calculate how much backing you need.

I tested the app for a year on various types of fishing line, including braided line, fluorocarbon line, and monofilament line, and it proved to be a flawless app with 100% accuracy. I’ve also added explanations within the app to make it easier for you to use.

Thanks to this app, the widespread fraud that unfortunately occurs in our country has now come to a clear end. I don’t think I need to explain the fraud that takes place here.
